Space Kinetic
“Cal Fund’s solid entrepreneurial foundation and specific domain expertise in the defense sector is a winning combination for us. Space Kinetic cares deeply about the Berkeley community, and it’s a privilege to be working with Cal Fund given their commitment to the University of California.”
- Ryan Sullivan, Co-founder and CEO
Space Kinetic is a dual-use startup building a game-changing platform for dynamic space operations. Space Kinetic's core technology is the Longbow, an electromechanical system that integrates onto a host spacecraft and deploys smaller assets without firing a thruster. This capability unlocks a unique combination of low-signature, operationally flexible maneuver through the space domain — which enables a broad suite of national security, commercial, and science space missions. Space Kinetic's co-founders met while in graduate school at UC Berkeley and their technology is supported by contracts with Los Alamos National Lab, US Space Force, DARPA, and National Science Foundation.
