Founder Dr. Crystal Nyitray invented a proprietary dime-sized cell encapsulation technology that is implanted below the skin which allows for a myriad of potential cell therapies. The cell encapsulation protects cells, prevents immune rejection, and allows for exchange of nutrients. First blue ocean is diabetes, wherein the donor pancreatic islets are loaded into the device, detect sugar levels, and secrete insulin as needed.
